Branded a dissident by the government, the Secret Service Directorate learn the Octagon will stage a demonstration against a US nuclear submarine that will arrive in Sydney harbour. Fearing riots the President orders Alice eliminated. The SSD solicit government scientist Dr Secta to dupe Alice into having a hologram made of him. Secta conspires to dematerialise him into digital dust to be permanently lost in the ether. The ruse succeeds and Alice vanishes. However, in a twist of fate he is accidentally freed from his digital prison 113 years into a post apocalyptic future. Trapped in the subterranean remains of Sydney, he fights for survival against mutant beasts, unearthly monsters and bloodthirsty barbaric warlords in a desperate bid to discover why his world had been annihilated.
